Vanessa Stangil

unnamed[1]

Vanessa’s study of yoga began as a teenager, pouring over her father’s books on yoga and eastern religion. After trying to mimic the asanas she saw books, her practice graduated to a handful of Gaiam yoga videos on VHS. As soon as she could drive, she started attending weekly vinyasa classes and was hooked. In 2008, Vanessa moved to Seattle to study with David Garrigues at the Ashtanga Yoga School of Seattle. It was there that she earned her 200-hour yoga teacher certification. Vanessa lived and taught yoga at Breitenbush Hot Springs in Detroit, OR for a year following her training. It was her passion for herbalism and natural medicine that brought her to southern Oregon five years ago. Vanessa is currently finishing up her BS with a focus in health sciences at Southern Oregon University, and plans to earn her Master’s in Nutrition and Functional Medicine. When off the mat, Vanessa loves to garden, travel, hike, and visit her family on the east coast. Vanessa is deeply joyed to join the Rasa family and offer weekly Ashtanga classes.
