For Devon, Yoga is a lifestyle. Yoga is about setting up the conditions to balance the system, quieting the mind and linking us with an internal experience that is longing to reveal itself. What inspires Devon is to provide a sacred space for students to experience how the time-tested tools of asana (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), and meditation can open the doorway to internal freedom. Devon is a Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher RYT and a long time apprentice of senior teacher Kristin Laak. She received her certification through Melissa Cooley’s Om Sweet Om School of Yoga, and continues to mentor with Kristin Laak on a weekly basis. Devon has spent the last two years, studying with her teacher Dr. Shankaranarayana Jois, the founder of Bharati Yoga Dhama, an organization working to preserve the eternal wisdom of the Yogic Arts and Sciences. “Acharya” as his students refer to him, is a Sanskrit scholar, with a PHD in Yoga, and Hereditary Vedic Astrologer.
Devon specializes in the craft of creating an environment for transformation, unique to each person. Her classes range from Vital Dynamic Flow to Gentle Stress Relief and everything in between. Her warm and inviting nature, allows each student to explore their mind, body, and soul, in a way that feels good to them. Devon’s classes lean into the traditional form and are anchored in supporting students to tap into their internal experience through breath, movement and meditation. She encourages students to find stillness in motion and to notice the more subtle energies within. When the mind is calm and quiet, we are more easily able to experience a profound sense of well being that is available to us, always.
